    Weeds On Okeechobee

Fishing trip planned for mid-September. Reading some past post about spraying in Florida. I’d like to go to Okeechobee again. Was last there in 2015. I need some honest answers about the weeds that are left there. Some posts report that the lake is practically barren. Not looking for hyperbole or a lesson in the environment …

I just want to know if toad and frog fishing can still be considered good. Would stay at Roland Martin’s Resort and fish the southern end of the lake. Not a fan of Harney Pond.

    Thank you.

The lake is very different than what it was in 2015. The lake is not dead or devoid of grass but is not what it was before, these are the facts.
You have to work harder to find and catch them but when you do of course you can get them good.
They will still bite frogs and toads on the right days with the right conditions.
The south end is the worst hit by the lack of grass, there's still fish to be caught but there is a lot of open water.
    These are the facts.
