Question 04 250 VMAX EFI - need fuel primer bulb

    2004 250 VMAX EFI VX250TLRC

I cannot remember what is the part number for the fuel primer Bulb only? I prefer to get a OEM Yamaha bulb, I cannot remember if it is 5/16".

    Thanks,

Being it is a yamaha fuel bulb that I used, would the part number be on the bulb? I am assuming the one needed in the image is 6YK-24360-73-00?

    Thanks,

I know of very very few Yamaha parts that have part numbers on them.

Your assumption with respect to part number 6YK-24360-73-00 is correct.

I found the original part number when i purchased from Andy at Sims in May of 2018.
    6AW-24360-01-00

1 × YAMAHA 3/8” OEM PRIMER BULB PUMP ASSEMBLY (WITHOUT HOSE) 6AW-24360-01-00

This is the new part number on Sims site, YAMAHA 10MM (3/8") OEM PRIMER BULB PUMP ASSEMBLY WITHOUT HOSE 6AW-24360-02-00

Generally from a maintenance perspective, how often should the primer bulb be replaced? Mine is 4 years old now.

    Thanks,

A 6AW prefix primer bulb may very well work on a VX model motor but from a part number standpoint that is not the correct primer bulb.

There is no hour or calendar basis for routinely replacing a primer bulb. Many boats and motors don't need them or have one installed.
