1999 Outboard 225 J225HPLEEN Tach

Tach isn't working, stator is good, charging with no issues. I get power to the purple wire and about 4V to the gray wire. Tach is wired correctly and is a known good tach.
Is the regulator/rectifier bad?

VRO still connected? If so disconnect the harness at the pump and see if tach returns.

VRO is gone. If there's a harness, I'm not sure where it's located, shop did the work.

Is the tack set to correct setting, I forget exactly what it needs be on 6 or something, just don’t remember.

Yes it is 6. Give the pole select switch a few turns back and for and back to 6. May have some corrosion on the internals.
