    1999 Johnson 115 J115PLEEM will not start

I have a 1999 Johnson 115 J115PLEEM that will not start. My motor will not start. Took to the lake, put the boat in the water, started fine. Parked truck came back and boat would not start just cranked. Fished for a couple hours and tried to start it again and nothing just cranked and cranked. The next day I put the muffs on it and it started and ran for about 20-30 seconds. Would not start again. The batteries were not on the charger due to our house guests that unplugged the extension cord that I always leave plugged in the wall. I have heard that a weak battery will not allow a motor to start. It cranks just fine but will not start. I have not messed with it for a couple days due to not having time. Will a weak battery cause a motor not to start even though it cranks over just fine? No sluggish cranking. Could someone maybe expand on that? Thanks.

Motor needs to spin minimum 250 RPM to generate spark.

Check if you have spark first. If you do not, follow the troubleshooting steps in the CDI electronics guide
