Fuel filter change now will only idle

2015 optimax 250. Just changed my fuel filter now I’m on the water and motor starts and idles fine but now motor does not change rpm when throttle is applied. Any help on what to check. Fuel bulb is hard.

Did u undo linkage on the motor to get filter out. Thats what happened to me.
