    Question 2015 250 SHO

About to buy a boat with this motor. I have heard some horror stories about the SHO. Motor and not has 150hrs. Anything I should be worried about? Is this the year the motor “made oil” from the rings not being seated correctly? Any info good or bad will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thrust bearing lets go usually. Warranted through Yamaha. May be worth a call to your local shop with a serial number to see what they say.
Is it green and start with a P?

I believe the bearing issue was pre 2012.

Yes it was. Was fixed in 2013.

As far as "making oil" that has to do with the break in. If not done properly, the rings won't completely seat in the cylinder. If it does make oil, then run the hell out of it and the rings will seat

I purchased a low hour 2016 250 SHO and I'm very pleased with it.
