    Stratos 21xl prostar

New to fiberglass boats and to forums for that matter. I have an 02 stratos 21xl prostar with a yamaha 225 3.1L ox66. I can't seem to find much info on this particular boat. I'm looking for prop to pad height, prop recommendations, and really any information at all on a 21xl prostar. I'm running 68 mph at around 5200 rpm , prop to pad is 2.75 below pad with an 8 inch slidemaster , and a 27m prop. I'm assuming the prop is a yamaha prop. I would think this boat would run mid 70's. Thanks in advance for any info.

3.25 a good spot but you are likely fine if not having prop slippage issues and water pressure is ok it might be dialed in already 5200 seems low should be pushing 6k likely?? likely need about a 25p prop ask in the prop section and the set up section in top area also a good place to try

does motor run well? 250 would have been better but it is what it is now!

Not mid seventies with a 225. I know a lot of peaple say they run eighty. I have a 201 pro with a 225 that I feel is set up fantastic. Thing will left itself out of the water and run. 72 is my best maybe 73 in cool weather. And to me that's balanced on the pad and gettin it. Your rpm seem low not sure what that motor max is but that's your target.

my partners 201 pro runs 78 with 250 merc that is really dialed in -- mid 70s with a 225 isnt happening

Sounds like we're both set up right. I've always been told 25 hp is worth five mph. That's right at where we are at.

Yes, the 27M is a Yamaha prop. A better prop might be a 25 T1 (if you can find one). The 3.1 engines seem to like a larger diameter prop. I tried an M series years ago, it spun higher RPMs but didn't give me the speed I expected. I purchased a 27 T1, balanced and blueprinted, and my 200 PXL flew! 77.1 MPH GPS. Of course that's on a 20 foot Strat.

That prop got damaged a couple years ago and I put on my spare. It's a Power Tech 27 TRO4 that's also balanced and blueprinted. It produces the same top end speed as the T1.

You have about 6 inches more boat than me and as said above, a 250 HP would be a better choice in power. Also, the M series props don't like to ride too high in the water and have been known to throw blades. Just saying.
