    neutral/safety plug

2007 Mercury 4 stroke 60/40 Jet. serial no 1C051335. Anyone know where I can unplug the neutral/safety switch to run a test. Or at least know the color of the wires so I can trace them down. Can't get above 3500 rpm's with it. Thanks in advance

Neutral safety switch is in the shift control. Yellow w/red stripe wires (Normally Closed when in neutral).

Only affects the STARTING circuit, will not cause loss of RPM's unless for some reason the starter is engaged.
