    Mercury 115 Command Thrust

Anyone have experience with the 4 stroke Mercury 115s with command thrust? I’m looking at a 2017 model with 600 hours on it and 2.5 years remaining factory warranty, 20” shaft, SS enertia prop and all controls with smart gauge.

I have a 2022 on a Ranger RT 188p. Not as fast as my 1991 395VS with a Yamaha 225 2-stroke, but it absolutely sips gas. Pleased so far, but I only have 30 hours on it.

They are good motors but would be underpowered for your 18' Xpress. I would look for a used 150 XR6 or EFI for that boat.

4-stroke forum is a few more down the list.

Note that Mercury doesn't use years.... and most engines built in 2017 are already OUT of the Factory Warranty Period (serial number is a good way of checking).
