    Fastest Bass Cat ever?

I was trying to search for that but most searches are what model is fastest. Just for entertainment I’m curious what’s the fastest a Bass Cat has ever been?

Rick was asked this question on the BTL podcast last spring. He said he has been 118.6 in a BassCat, and wouldn't answer how fast they've had the Jag with the 450R on it.

Here’s a link to the podcast - skip to the 58:00 mark if you want to hear what Rick says about this topic.

edit: the forum embeds YouTube links, which doesn’t play well on some mobile browsers. If you can’t see the video above, just search “btl rick pierce” on YouTube and it’s the first result.

I had a 1999 Jag with the 250XB engine on it. I swore if that boat had wings it would have flown !! That engine was one bad son of a gun !!

I would love to see what my Eyra would do with a non detuned pad. 89.6 currently my best. A flashed SHO on a PII has been do several times and scary fast. I do enjoy passing the flashed Skeeters 300HP is not always 300HP. My current set up will hit 86+ with full wells and tournament load. Both tanks at half full. I hate that BCB detuned the hull.

Did it mention what HP it was flashed too? I must've missed it if it's in that thread.

Back in the day I met Rick's parents who attended a Bass Cat sponsored tournament, much to my amazement they knew who I was
I ran a Cougar with a Merc 250XB on the back. That was a very strong motor and I could run as high as the low 80's but it gave me a significant pucker factor above 75!

If I remember correctly, back in 1998 Basscat built a Jaguar out of kevlar that had a 260 Mercury on it that saw speeds well over triple digits

What year did Basscat start de-tuning their hulls?
