    Digital and analog water pressure

I have had my vessel view mobil for awhile now and decided to add the water pressure sensor to my outboard. Now my pressure will read on my analog gauge as well as vessel view. I like redundancy.
It took some engineering to get both system to work. Ace hardware proved the fittings and a 10x1.5 tap to re thread the Tee fitting to work with the electronic sensor. Here is the finished product.

Did all of that plumbing fit beneath the flywheel cover?

Good question. The straight answer is no. About 3/8 of an inch to tall. I crossed my fingers while putting it together, I couldn’t find the correct elbow or get about 3/8 rise out of the tee fitting so that the analog fitting didnt hit the fly wheel sensor. Its tight. Still a work in progess to get it perfect. I cut a 2 inch hole in the cover to clear. It looks very clean/stock looking. I took it out this morning for a few hours. Works like a champ. I still want it to work without putting a hole in the cover though. Then all of the 75-115 guys will be able to make it happen without surgery. It still requires taping 10 by 1.5 threads in the Tee.

Hard to tell from your photos but would a 90 out of the top of the Tee have fit?

An elbow may work. I Have limited places to buy from. Ace hardware was out of elbows. A close nipple might work as well.

Try McMaster Carr. Cheap prices, excellent selection and fast shipping.

ETA; their website can be overwhelming. It’s worth a call to a tech person to talk through what you want to accomplish.

According to the system, apparently your attachment is invalid, or the hyperlink is broken sir.

I can’t see the attachment either. But, based on many years of forcing water and air through pipes, that should work a treat.

    Excellent work.

Not a criticism but a friendly tip for piping projects going forward; use Blue Monster thread tape instead of the old school white Teflon.

Back in the day my anal retentive nature caused me to use both the white tape and pipe dope on stuff. When the Blue Monster stuff came out I backed off to just tape unless it was super high pressure or really contaminated liquid I absolutely needed to keep in the pipe.

You might have better luck turning the tee on edge (leg of tee connecting to block). That should lower the overall height a bit.

I definitely do NOT recommend cutting holes in the flywheel cover.

This "could" be done with Legris Fittings/tube, similar to what we're doing on the V8's (slightly different block fitting, however).

    Don,
The Tee has be in the position shown. If not the analog hose fitting hits the flywheel sensor. Not much room in this area.

The last 2 pictures are version 2. It all fits under cowling easy. I sent your staff an email showing the new updated version. Works perfect! If anyone wants to take on this project shoot me a PM, I have a list of the fittings needed to put this together.
