Auto Bilge

Hi guys-


Having some issues with my auto bilge pump. Johnson SPX


I’m filling my bilge up with my hose in the driveway. Once enough water is in the bilge, the pumps activates and starts pumping, but nothing is coming out.


While the pump is running (with nothing coming out) If I twist the pump and pop it out a little, then put it back in, it pumps the water out. It’s like it’s not able to suck at first from the bottom, then once I take it out and put it back in it, it’s able to pump out.


The pump itself is not the issue as I’ve wired multiple new pumps and the same issue occurs.


Seems like something getting blocked at first and need to be reseated???


It’s almost like I’m getting an air lock and then venting it when I pull the pump out and put it back in.


Anyone run into this issue before?

The switch may be to low, if more water was in the pump it won't suck air and will pump

Take a look at this video. It may be your issue....just a thought.
