2001 johnson 175hp j175plsif. I've read tidbits about using ficht reed cages on these motors. Is it a worthwhile mod and is it a direct swap? Also what are the claimed or experienced benefits of such a swap?

Not going to make a huge difference. Slight improvement in idle/midrange maybe? Should be a direct swap.
