    200 EFI Dies In Gear

Motor is a 200 EFI, SN OG384639. Anyone know what would cause motor to die when put in gear? It seems to idle ok and runs fine once i get going. My dad does think that it is smoking more than usual and using more fuel than it use to. A friend of mine told me that it sounded like a TPS sensor, but i havent been able to find a youtube video or anything to show how to check it. Thanks in advance for any help. Not sure if this was posted in correct place, once i looked up motor it looks like its a 2.5. Delete if posted incorrectly

Moving your post to the 2.5L Forum.

Need to start with the basics: Compression, Spark and Fuel. Especially note the FUEL PRESSURE at idle, under acceleration, five minutes into running, and 15/30/60 seconds after shutdown.

I will get fuel pressure readings. Guess i wasnt considering fuel pressure since it was running fine after getting it going in gear.

Elevated fuel pressure will cause the engine to be significantly rich (especially obvious at low RPM's).
