Getting fuel tank out of a 223

I need to get the tank out to try to find water leak. I’ve unhooked everything and removed as much gas as possible and can’t get tank out.

Anyone have any advice or actually pulled one out?

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure on that model if it is a rear tank. But if it is it is probably swollen. The way we get them out is to get them totally dry inside and force air through them until fumes are gone. Plug all holes except on you can connect a vacuum cleaner hose to and it will shrink them enough to get them out. Be careful to get them completely empty and fumes removed. You can also fill them with an inert gas to insure no fire or explosion.
