What do you guys do to strap the rods down on the passenger side?

My partner typically brings 4-6 rods and they fit in the “rod channel” but the Velcro strap Allison sends won’t reach over the handles of that many rods stacked up so I don’t have it installed.

I’ve thought about a regular black rod bungee but haven’t found a way to mount it that satisfies me yet.

Any suggestions? Any pictures?

Believe that Rod buckle makes longer straps than what comes in our boats.

I have the rod buckles on my deck on both sides, not a huge fan but they do the job.

I'm trying to come up with something that looks decent and is functional for the passenger area that I call a "rod cove" or whatever it is. When you slide two rods into the tubes, they lay flat and the velcro strap that comes with the boat is long enough to strap over both rods. When you add more than two rods, the strap isn't long enough so I removed it and would like to do something with a rod buckle or a bungee but I'm super picky about how it looks.

I bought the larger velcro rod straps and installed in the rod tray. That works. The factroy velcro one was way too small.

You don't like the retractable rod buckles on the front deck?? How come?? I love mine. They are perfect for holding a lot of rods. They're tough, hold strong, wide straps and with a strong spring to h old them. I hate the skinny bungees with the feeble little hook to hold a bunch of rods.

I actually removed the other velcro staps that came on my boat cuz I never used them.

I don't have any of them on my boat at this point but I do need something for the passengers rods, we've almost lost a couple.

With larger velcro straps you can fit 6 rods. My partner used to keep a few lying along his left side as well no problem

We were barely able to get the straps around 4 rods, I guess we were laying them the wrong way. I’d like to put a retractable rod buckle in that area but I don’t think there is room. I may also look for a longer Velcro strap.

Nothing wrong with that XRS for sure!

I ended up putting the velcro strap back in the rod “channel” and will keep one of the extra velcro straps to extend it if he brings more than 4 rods. No big deal but definitely should have a rod buckle there from factory before cap is put on.
