The C+ review actually wasn't a bad score. It was just the first video he released so the basscat fanboys lost their minds. He did end up getting into a Lynx instead of the puma, made sense as he basically wanted a wide boat / replacement for his Ranger. He dinged the score of narrow body boats quite a bit.

I marshaled for Feider when he ran a BCB Eyra. I really liked the boat. Fast fast fast. But yes it was more narrow up front compared to my Skeeter or definitely a Ranger. It's all personal preference.

I’ve ran 8 different BCB’s, 8 years in a row. I’ve had a Puma, Caracal, Cougar, Lynx, and now a Puma STS. They are excellent boats, and I had no issues with any besides a trailer light issue that was fixed in 5 minutes at the plant while I was driving through. The Cougars and Puma were more narrow, yes. They were very fast, but there wasn’t as much space. Some of them are built like that for a reason. The Lynx, Caracal, and Puma STS have more space than I would ever need with 2 people, and I have never had someone say a negative thing about them. The front deck on the STS is HUGE, and it rides better than any boat I have ever been in. The issue with the looks is the color combos some people choose. I have had 3 people try to buy my boat at the gas station in the last 4 months when I was filling up, and that is not an exaggeration. Different strokes for different folks, but I love my Bass Cats.

I am in know way knocking any boat manufacturer on this post. I just happen to see what appeared to be a drastic difference and thought this was a forum for discussion of bass boats, etc. I’m sorry it eats @ you so much that you love trying to always turn things around on my posts. It’s certainly not the first.

Its funny when Christie wins a tournament and the tin boat guys act like he won it out of a 15' jon boat. The price difference between his express and the equivalent fiberglass boat really isn't all that different lol.

I haven't heard anything about Ballistic for a while other than they are moving to Texas apparently. Seems strange to sponsor a few pros while you can't even really buy their boats.

Perhaps boats just are not designed for all the junk people want to carry on the front of their boat - big electric motor, 3 depthfinders, hydrowave, power-pole switches, 15 rods, tools, etc.

They all looks small compared to John Cox's front deck, it looks like an aircraft carrier!

Only from people that don't own BCB. I've never heard anyone that actually owns a BCB complain about them. And if you weigh fish in regularly (I do), the most lively fish almost always come from a BCB livewell.

Maybe they just dont like getting beat running up in rough water like the wider boats.
