I included measurements for the ends to see if they had wide ones or at least wider ones that can be custom cut to width.

Also with a source for Delrin plastic which looks to be what the Minnkota ones are made of one could make their own custom ends that are wider for less stress on the cylinder pin.
OR like the double one I have, make it out of aluminum.

I will test but I’m thinking the ones they provide will be a bit wider by default and the increased force on the pin will be a nonissue. I hope anyhow.

I added 2 pistons on either side of my Maxxum Pro 24/80 via instructions I found on this site. Once I did so I had to sling the motor over the bow then press on it with my foot to get it to lock. When I pulled the release cord the motor would almost lock itself back into position in the mount without my touching it. 😉

The last communication was to send a picture of the Minnkota gas spring lable. I did that and got a reply that it was 640N and I requested a 1750N and she did not understand what the deal was. I explained all of what we are trying to do. That was Monday, so it's still being researched.

Update: just got a very interesting suggestion===an adjustable strength version. Still select the max strength but can reduce it.

    This is the gas spring:
    D0M0F55-100-260/XXXN (easylift.com)

    This is the adjustment tool:
M10 Release Screw For Bansbach "M0" or "S0" Threads (easylift.com)

Wow. That is no where near the same. Was that their recommendation? I think the one I posted above was much closer, well at least according to specs.

The center eye to center eye length on the extended HBird has spring is just under 9.5”.

That’s probably the outer overall length.
