Minn Kota Ultrex Stainless Latch Bar

Minn Kota Ultrex Stainless Latch Bar

I am told that the plastic ones break far too often. Where can I fine a stainless steel version?

I have had problems with the ss latch bar. I would just buy a couple extra plastic latch bars as spares. They are cheap and ease to replace !

I would suggest you look at the alignment of the upper arm and the base. Any misalignment will cause the plastic bar to break. Misalignment can be caused by a twisted base from the mounting bolts being over torqued or the screws where the pivot point of the upper arm meets the base are loose. Also the pivot bushing could be bad.

I'd use the plastic.. the few times I've hit something immovable at full speed that is the thing that broke..

In the 4 urs I've owned the Uktrex that plastic bar broke once. Not sure why but I've replaced it (easy task) and have a few more as spares.....
