    SPRO PHAT FLY ROD?

Looking for suggestions on a rod for the Phat fly. Not float n fly just the fly. Currently use a NRX 852S IT does decent. Friend uses a NRX 901S Which is probably the one but looking a little more budget friendly

    Thank you

ALX Rods ZOLO McSmalls is a very good option. Still USA made but more friendly to your pocket.

Not cheap but cheaper than a NRX is the Megabass Baby Plugging. Its my go to Spybait, hair jig, vertical drop shot and moping rod. Love it some much I have two.

Daiwa tatula or tatula ags 7'6 mml. Great rods for many different purposes, but will do what you're looking for very well. Personally, I would not recommend the mcsmalls. Alx are good rods, I personally was just not a fan of that rod at all.

I have been pretty impressed with the 7'10" St.Croix Victory hair jig rod.

Have you looked at Seth Feider's hair jig rod from Daiwa?

I’ve got a Phenix Feather 7’7” light for throwing hair jigs and it’s been great

Went with the Shimano Intenza. Haven't tried it out yet but feels perfect! 7'6ml. Will follow up when I get it on the water. Paring it with a Daiwa Kage 2500

Its a really nice Rod, will be getting a second. The Elite 7-6 is really a great rod for puff balls also.
