    7 inch fishfinder question

Ok guys I'm in the market for a new 7 inch or similar size fish finder. I have a gen 2 helix si di that is on the fritz.
Anyone have any good options on maybe Garmin or Lowrance and of course Hummingbird units? I really only use the unit for temp, depth and structure. So SI is not a must. TIA

The Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 73sv is a great unit for its size and price

You can get it with or without transducer

With bluechart, lakevu or Canada lakevu mapping

Depending on the options you want you can find it at a great price from many retailers

I suggest the GT56 transducer and lakevu mapping

You won't have half the issues you see with HB graphs (much more stable)

And I find the touch screen a big plus compared to Helix

Updates are a breeze with no need for restoring to default every time

I have a Helix 7 mega si g3. I only use the di, but di on this unit has no dedicated di crystal and is computer generated like the old HB's. I replaced the transducer with a g3 di one (dedicated di crystal) and the mega di is awesome now.

So a Helix 7 mega di unit would be my choice for your needs.

I have a Lowrance HDS7 Live, it is an awesome unit and will do anything the bigger units do.

The Garmin also has Quick draw. I had our local guide in my boat this past Feb. After a day on the water he ordered Garmins for his Ranger. Then told a few friends. I ended up selling 8 Garmin units with one trip having the guide in my boat.

Buddy of mine just got a Garmin from our local BPS/Cabelas. He was looking at the 7 inch unit, but the 9 he got was not much more money. They were both on sale. We installed it a couple days ago, and it is very nice. I am a Humminbird guy so it would be a Helix 7 of some type, depending on your needs.

Ya I have a helix 7 di & si. I think my transducer is shot. So I might just buy a new ducer for my bird, instead of buying a whole new unit.
