Boat Registration will now run from January 1 to December 31.
As you know the prior Registration would end in March.

So how does this benefit us over the old way?
I looked it up and to be honest, I don't see where the confusion comes from? Are we that stupid of a society that we can't figure it out when the registration expired? Yes, apparently so!

More than you think. People never read the little writing under the large bold year date that said expires on March 31. They just assumed it expired at the end of the year.
To me I always renewed on time. Those that were confused will save a little money and embarrassment.
Personally I like the change, it just makes sense.

In my 30 years of boating I've never met anyone who assumed the registration ran out at the end of the year. I know people have become lazy but WOW.
