    Question Prop Question

Has anyone run a Tempest Plus on an Erya or other 20' BCB hull with good results? I've run a Fury 26 3 blade since I've had my Eyra and the top end is good (touch 80 on a good day) but the mid-range lift with the Fury is not good at all. I ran a 26 Tempest Plus on my previous TR21 and it seemed to lift the hull better at speeds below top end. I've ran several Bravo 1 XS 4 blades and they're okay but were not stellar on top end. Just wondering about the Tempest.

Dropping a pitch in propeller usually helps mid range. The Tempest generally doesn’t perform well on a BCB hull.

I ran a 26 bravo xs, and fs on my 2021 eyra with v8 merc. Ran great. Did not gain alot of hole shot as that hull seems pretty weight sensitive. Mine ran 76-77 with a tournament load with that prop.

So what makes the Tempest so bad on the Erya or is it like most rigs where its a case by case thing?

Never run a Tempest prop on my 2017 Eyra! Basically I run a 26P fury for most of the year. Later when it gets cold I’d switch to a 27p with a large PVS plug installed! Worked for me, and rather well!!

Send that 26 pitch Fury to a good prop guy. After Mark Croxton worked on my three blade Fury 25, midrange improved dramatically. And I got a few more mph on top end as well.
