If you get hungry there are some good eats you can dock at. Cajun Boilers under the Bull Bayou bridge is a great place.

As for parking the Pontoon to swim and relax, there are many coves on the south end of the lake, but I live on the upper end so these are my two favorite spots:
This is a sand bar near the Hwy 270 bridge. 3 to 5 ft of water where you can anchor and wade or swim. Water is always cooler here because it is closer to the Lake Ouachita dam.
This cove is up the Big Mazarin river. It is deeper water for swimming and gets away from the main lake traffic.

David’s Burgers on Central is my favorite burger in HS. Otherwise, Bill pretty much pegged it.
Restaurants to avoid: Trejo’s
Worst Mexican food I ever ate. Was convinced to go back by boat with a group to eat there. That was the 2nd worst Mexican meal I ever had.

Awesome!!! Thank yall four all the info
Lots of boobies at the sandbar. Your son will enjoy it.
Sorry you could not see the pic. I have a similar problem, my iPad will not show videos but my iPhone will. Can’t figure that out. If you PM your email, I will send it as an attachment.
If you do not have good mapping for Hamilton, I suggest you get the Navonics app. On the app, as you approach the Hwy270 bridge, you will see a long point and the entrance to a large bay on your left. The sand bar runs the length of that point near the bank.
