    Saltwater Fish Meals

I've been lucky enough to have fished in Honduras, Mexico, Florida, Hawaii, California, and Alaska. Was thinking last night about all the fish species I've eaten. Here is the list:
    Halibut
    Ling Cod
Rockfish (at least 3 different species)
    Black Sea Bass
    White Sea Bass
    Mahi Mahi
    Wahoo
    Swordfish
    Yellowfin Tuna
    Albacore
    Bluefin Tuna
    Blackfin Tuna
    Skipjack Tuna
    Bonito
    Mackrell
    Yellowtail
    Scorpion Fish
    Parrotfish
    Chilean Sea Bass
    Conger Eel
    Mako Shark
    Seven-gill Shark
    Leopard Shark
    Sturgeon
    Striped Bass
    Chinook Salmon
    Coho Salmon
    Chum Salmon
    Pink Salmon
    Sockeye Salmon

There have probably been a couple more when I've eaten fish and chips and not known what it was! Of the 30 on the list, I've caught 22 of them. Freshwater is many fewer but still 9 or 10. Anybody got any others that I don't have? East Coast guys must have different ones.

We don't have them. Halibut and sand dabs but no flounder.

Surf perch no. Probably have caught sheepshead before but can’t remember it! No redfish on the West Coast either

Possibly, while visiting Key West. I know I caught barracuda and bone fish but didn’t eat them

Mangrove snapper is the best fish ive ever tasted, with mahi being a close second. Have caught mangrove, yet to land a mahi!

You have to try cobia and snook when in Florida.

Eaten just about everything caught, including a few I'd wished otherwise.
Personal favorites ... pompano and Spanish mackerel. Always freshly caught.
When traveling south, we enjoy freshwater trout & wahoo, both excellent.

Tautog is a favorite of mine, cold water fish. Here in Va. Beach we are the southern limit to their range, called Blackfish in the Northeast. How about Amberjack from your fishing in Florida. We release them all here though.

Totally considered a trash fish as a kid and younger adult.
Became popular when other species were harder to obtain.
Restaurants love the profitability. Other trash served too.
