    Giant flipping yesterday

We were flipping a piling in 5 foot of water on the James yesterday and this one ate my buddy’s creature bait

Did you weigh it? It looks like it might be over 20 pounds maybe 25

Setting the hook on that with 10 feet of line out was pretty awesome. I struggled to hold it up there with 2 hands, so had to have been 40 plus.

I'm surprised you managed to land it, I've hooked them on the Potomac in 10 to 15 feet of water and never managed to get them off the bottom using 12lb test, you know it's a cat because of the death spiral, after 10 minutes I just gave up and cut the line.

What a beast. I managed to land a 18 lb. flathead on Smith Mountain Lake last summer while throwing a squarebill on 10 lb. test. It took so long to land it I had to take lunch break. Really impressive that your fish was landed.
