    Anyone running a G3 1610 with a 25?

I understand this is quite underpowered, but due to hp restrictions I need to be at 25hp. I can probably conserve weight with lithiums, and perhaps a performance prop (if they even make them) might help to plane off quicker. Just wanted to get some thoughts as id rather not invest in something that tops out at 12mph. Otherwise I may just need to stick to the lighter, 17' Lowe.

How much do these boats weigh? I ask because I keep an older V-bottom skiff at a cabin with a 9.9 Merc and I get 18 mph out of it when I am by myself. But this is a boat without any decking, storage compartments, etc. Very "old school".

14' Mirrorcraft tin boat (ancient) with a 9.9 Mercury 4-stroke, no electronics; catches fish anyway

We have HP restrictions here in PA. I have a 16' Storm with three lead acids and a 30hp and have seen 28mph by myself, typically run 25-26mph with 2 guys and gear. I know a bunch of guys run the 17.5 trackers (same dry weight as the g3) with 25-30 hp motors and see anywhere from 18-23 depending on load. I would think you should be right around 20mph, give or take a mph or two.

That's pretty heavy for a 16' boat but is that loaded and ready to fish?

It claims dry weight, so not loaded. Keep in mind it's a 92" beam. Just a lot more tin.

    I have a 98 170pro G3 with a yamaha 25 4 stroke. I run a 9 pitch prop at 5800RPM's by myself (22mph) and 5500RPM (2 people, 18MPH). I had a 10 pitch prop but it was very load sensitive. My hulls dry weight is right around 1000lbs also.

Thanks so much, this was very helpful. From doing more research, it seems that with a little work, I can get results similar to yours. Some may think 18 is far too slow, but this is plenty for me and my son.
