If the line is always in the same position across the screen no matter what screen you are displaying (SI, DI, 2D, CHART, Settings, etc.), then, yes, you have an issue that will require service.

I had a similar problem with a brand new Helix G3N model only it was a vertical line on side of all views. Needed repair but didn't send it in because I ended up having to sell the boat. Most likely a defective video circuit in unit causing missing pixels.
