    Western NC smallmouth bass

    We are taking a trip to Lake Lure Chimney Rock area in a few weeks and would love to get my 14 year old son and his friend on some smallies. Do any of y’all have any suggestions on where to go?

    Are you doing bank fishing? Don’t plant on fishing lake lure unless your hire a guide. Any creek or river near there should have smallmouth in it.

    Thought about either taking the kayaks or maybe renting some while we are there but I don’t know where the rough section of the rivers are so I don’t know if that will happen.I would just like for him to be able to catch some smallmouth while we are there.
