There's a hardwood sawmill about a mile from my home. http://www.blueridgelumber.net/local-sales.html A 2.25 cuyd scoop is $35, double ground (fine) is another $10. Just drive right up and they'll load you down

By me in Lagrange, Lagrange has free mulch. A lot of the towns do. I would call around locally. You can dye it yourself. Also the Sanitary district wastewater treatment plants have compost and mulch for free.
    Please release me,let me go.

Same as everyone else. 35-45 a yard.

Bought bags while on sale at lowes. 2.50 a bag and easier to move around. Not a fan of the plastic waste but....

Our condo association stopped having mulch put in our beds every other year. We went to stone and never looked back. Do it once and be done with it. Be sure to put weed barrier down first.

I just looked up the price at our local Earth First. $34.95, picked up. Not sure what the delivery is. As most have mentioned, they were hosing you at that price.

Bought a yard last week but can't remember if it was $30 or $35. Pretty close to what they quoted you though.
She bought 32 yards in total (two full trucks). It's a big property and she has created a monster with her landscaping but as some of the perennial beds fill in less will be needed. She mulches every other year and she had about 6 yards left from the second truck that the neighbor was able to use. And I will repeat, its a lot of landscaping that fortunately I don't have to help her with all that much.

I got it back in april for $2 a bag on sale. I got a whole pallet of 40 bags, or about 3 yards for $80. Not bad.

I am in the production business of mulch. The prices have gone up because of manufacturing costs. Mostly fuel, the grinders are running 10-12 hours a day at 30-35 gallons of fuel per hour so you do the math. Not to mention the rise in cost of steel for wear parts.then we have to load it on trucks to deliver it to the supplier. The price of colorant has skyrocketed.
Anyways, 700.00 for 10yds delivered is pretty high. In upstate NY most bigger retail landscape suppliers are in the range of 50-56 per yard delivered. If your buying 10 plus yards there really should be a little bit of discount for quantity
