I will take the beach anyway. The waves and the scenery can be entertaining and relaxing. When I am at the boat ramp there is that idiot who parks on it for an hour with 25 people waiting. That is stress and no fun. The exception at the boat ramp is when an extreme fight breaks out. That can be entertaining. Also if a fool allows his 30 ft Wake Boat pull his Prius under water. That could be a hoot!
Not much in the way of beaches around here.
Around here, the sand ramps are the only "public" beaches on most waters, so it's a two-fer.
It's gets even better on the sandbars around here between the scenery and the idiocy.

Also, find your closest methadone clinic and park and watch the stream of people in the mornings.
Did you see any no smoking on the beach signs? Law went into effect last week.
