Cruise control to the moon one second and crash and burn, sssllllooowwwlyyy on live TV the next.
A rare but not unknown situation for Mr. McIlroy.
He seemed a little shell shocked as he spoke, but jumped immediately to the positive of his day-“7 birdie’s” he responded. Just like I would have responded (without the 7) to any other person at the club had he casually asked about my round that day.
I came close yesterday in my own little world with a birdie on Hole No. 1. Not another on my card after it. But many good shots, more than I expected, yet birdieless none the less. I had my blow up holes (2) but did not approach a “QUAD’!!!!! And I was not on live television when I made the nasty swats.
I really respect and cheer for Rory.
His standing up for what he believes is most commendable. Taking a position that might not be well taken by some if not many. But charge ahead he did. Well done Rory. It will really be interesting how his next two days go.I would bet on him if you care to hit my paybaretta.comsight!
