I think I recall the steps and it only takes me a couple seconds and I don't recall having to do a lot...I'm "thinking" when livescope is on the screen hit menu then select transmit sonar off. The screen will stay up and when your ready to turn sonar back on simply select transmit sonar on and hit the back button to make the menu go away. I'm not 100% sure but to the best of my memory that's how I do it. I do recall the whole process can be done in less than 5 seconds and there is not a lot of button pushing going on.
Don’t know about the non touch but on the touch hit the power button then the power tab then sleep or enable/disabled transducer or both will also work.
