    Paint chipping off aluminum spitfire

Noticed on my prop some spots with bare metal. 2 blades have the spot in about the same place. I definitely have not hit anything and there are no other marks anywhere on the prop. This is on a Merc 60hp fourstroke. Prop is not even a year old. Seems like that could affect performance since it is on the thrust face of the prop. Is this a manufacturing defect?

Is something about my set up causing excess cavitation?

Could be the way the water comes off of your hull, or lower unit, or propeller design. I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
