    Networking

Will an Helix 7 MSI G4 fish finder network with an old 898c SI?

A Helix 7 first generation, G2, G3, and G4 will not network with anything.

    A Helix 7 G2N, G3N, and G4N will network with either generation 898.

Helix 7 G4N is what I purchased. Newbie question, when networked will my 898 show what’s on the newer fish finder? The old 898 transducer is fried. What cable would I need to network? Thanks for your help! Much appreciated.

Any idea as to what network cable would be needed.

    Ethernet cable.
Both 898's have the metal threaded Ethernet port that an Ethernet cable will connect directly to.
A Helix needs an Ethernet Adapter (AS EC QDE) to connect an Ethernet cable to it.

A 20' Ethernet cable is AS EC 20E, there are several lengths. The number in the model name is the length.
