    Shimano Castaic 200SF

I've got some here Japanese produced.
Pretty sure they were used, probably.
Still in factory boxes, but spooled up ...
Books, warranty slips, etc. are there.
Leaving me clueless on the age & use.

What are they worth nowadays, ideas?

I assume they are the burgundy colored reels and should be the Shimano Scorpion Quickfire . Used you can get them on Bay for around $100-$150.

Very versatile reel. I actually use one of mine for frog fishing as it has a large spool.

Not burgundy. They're a flipping reel, specialty item. Made in Japan. They're older product.

Hmmm ... didn't seem like they'd be so low. Japanese made, still in the box, etc.
Been looking all over, they seem to be very rare, at least nowadays. Thanks!

I think you can still get the price range of $100-$150. Same reel as the Quickfire.

100 bucks. They are a good reel, but they are bulky, and I didn't like the quick engagement switch where it was placed. Find a used Daiwa T3 , I love the ability to quickly engage that reel for pitching.

Thanks!! I'll have to go find that reel, made in Japan, to get an idea.

To a collector probably $100 plus. To a tournament angler or someone wanting to fish them $60-80. Heavy, bulky, has back play etc but built well and obviously dated now.

It's true they are heavy and bulky and have some minimal back play in the handle, but IMO they are the absolute best flipping and pitching reel ever made.

I've seen them go on E Bay for between $100 and $150 dollars. Depending on condition. I've tried to buy a few of them off E Bay but lost track of the bidding closing dates.

I have several of them, both first generation and the second generation like the ones pictured. Awesome reels.

Thanks. I've owned them for quite awhile. My memory ... tank tough and a strong drag.
I'll keep them in storage for my future use. Tough and strong are important down here.
