I've always upgraded my carbons to the latest software revisions when they came out. I've also read going above 18.3 hurt the downscan especially on this setup. I am mot seeing images as good as I once did, but running 4 units and active target, would backing up to a different revision cause problems in other areas?
I’m interested to hear what the best ss3D version is to run with carbons as well.
I’m only using carbon for 3D, SI and downs can at the console.
Garmin LV32 & 34 for all bow fishing.
Interested to hear all ss3D info guys have to share in regards to updates.
IMO, running 22.1 on all units and modules has been the best for me. It brought 3D up to AI equivalence. If using software from 2018, you don’t have access to Active Target or Ghost 360. But I’ve always updated my units and never seen an issue. I update by card, I hard reset after, I reinstall my waypoints and trails and then redo my overlays.

I always update and perform the same steps NoCAL does; never a problem and I get great images.
