Need advice on Power Pole brackets Keep or change?

Repowering a 2009 z520 from a 2s 250 merc proxs to a 4s 250 proxs. Replacing old Bob's 10" with a new Bob's 10". Currently have two 8' ppole signature series and the brackets are mounted sandwich style between the transom and the jack plate. Considering replacing the ppole sandwich mount with mounts attached to the sides of the new jack plate which is predrilled for them. I think that I would like to get the brackets off the transom from between the transom and Jackplate while we are changing out the motor and jack plate. Are there any disadvantages to mounting to the sides of the jack plate other than the cost of the brackets? I see definite advantages if I ever wanted to change or remove poles in the future.

If you don't mind spending the money it is a no brainer. Go to the side of the bobs jack plate...

    Part number

pkd-s-2-6 or if braced option go pkbd-s-2-6

Bobs jack plate requires (2) Ap-Spacer-Side however on a (new) bobs 10" Action you can get away with out them.
