    Trimming braid to fluoro

How much tag end do you guys leave on the fluoro side? That's the side that snags so I've always wondered if I cut it too close or leave too much.

I use a modified albright knot, the loop on the fluoro and wrap with the braid. Fluoro gets cut as short as possible and leave 1/4" on the braid side

^^ Same here, except probably leave 1/8 tag on the braid.

FG knot, tag end gets covered with half hitches. Barely notice it coming through the guides.

30# FG to 15# fluoro, FG knot w/ 4 half-hitches, trim fluoro flush, 4 more hitches. Trim braid, leaving 3/16", cover knot w/ a thumbnail and use a lighter to ball it up near flush. Cuss b/c I burned my finger.

Double uni, 4 wraps floro, 6 wraps braid, cut flush to knot with nail clippers, dab of super glue, never once broken a connection knot.

I use Shins knot/ Lazy Alberto and cut just shy of flush. On the braided end I will sometimes hit it with a lighter for a second being careful to cover the fluoro between my fingers.

^^^^Like this !! Be sure to pull on both tag ends and then both main lines to make sure the knot is as tight as it can get. Then cut the Braid, then cut the Floro leaving 1/4". Now pull as hard as you can, then cut the Floro almost flush.

I always cut the floro tag end flush to my knot, no matter which knot I use. It is the end of the knot that causes all your problems going through the guides, laying on your spool and with your line in the air / on the water. I leave about an 1/8 + on the braid side.
