I mounted mine to the back wall of the starboard rod box. I was able to mount the Ethernet Hub and Garmin GLS 10 (black box) side by side on that wall and run the wires through the ventilation cover. I can try to get pics this afternoon, but here is one from the install process when I was looking at placement.
I didnt want to use the side walls since the rod boxes get narrow quick.

I mounted mine under the dash, along the support closest to the center of the boat. Neat and tidy location...but with the reliability of these hubs from HB (which is basically non-existent) I would mount somewhere where you can easily replace in the field. This location is a bit of a pita to get at. The location shown above has to be better.
