Garmin 126sv and Livescope Plus Problem

I recently (1 month ago) had a new Garmin 126sv installed and a new livescope plus installed on my Garmin Force. While fishing my livescope screen will freeze up, but my sideview and downview will work. Also, the 126 shut itself down and wouldn't reboot, but then would all of a sudden come back on. It's getting 13.1 volts. Any suggestions on why this is happening? This has happened about 4-5 times over the last 4 days. It's seated in it's cradle properly and I checked the pins and none are bent, or damaged. My 2 other Humminbirds are operating just fine. This is version 19.20. Any help is appreciated.

Connect your unit to Active Captain and make sure you are running the latest software. The last update was to fix the screen freezing issue.

20 is latest version so you are in need of the update.

I did update today. I'm fishing tomorrow so we'll see if it works.

I've updated to version 20 and still experience the same problems. Additionally, at times my livescope + will only show bottom out to around 30 feet (set at 75ft). This past weekend on livescope I couldn't see bottom at all at one point and so I tried restarting and the unit wouldn't come back on. Like before, it started up about on it's own about 3-5 minutes later. The unit reads 13.2 volts. My 12" HBs are working great. Any other ideas?

I believe the current update for the echomap 126 is version 21.0.

Based on one trip post update, I think it did actually fix the freeze problem.

That is correct. Version 20 was suppose to fix the screen freezing problem per Garmin. Apparently it did not and they issued Version 21 which Garmin says will fix the screen freezing problem.

I will check for version 21 tonight. My battery is a ReLion 100ah (less than 1 year old) and it works great. Wiring is all new and it was installed by a certified Garmin dealer in May of this year. My Garmin trolling motor, Livescope + and the 126 are all new.

*Would V. 21 fix the livescope + issue?

Did you calibrate the LS AHRS? Just trying to eliminate all possibilities.

I updated my 126sv to V.21. I've never heard of calibrating the LS AHRS. I only was told to calibrate my Garmin trolling motor which I did once on the water. Maybe they calibrated it at the shop? When I was on the water the tech helped me calibrate the Force, so I assume he would have told me about the LS+. Unfortunately, I won't be able to fish until the weekend, so I won't know if the update worked.

Hope the update works for you. I installed lvs34 about a month ago. Had an older software version on my graphs.... think it was 19.1 or 19.2 (don't remember). Livescope was lagging really bad and looked terrible. after messing with the settings a few minutes I gave up and turned it off. I was very disappointed but hopeful that the software updates would help....

I installed v20 but they released v21 by the time I was able to get back out to the water so I installed v21. Fished 3 hours Saturday evening and had no issues. Very satisfied at this point. If you continue to have issues after this update it might be time to call garmin support.

Thanks ridge runner91. I'm going to be in Michigan for 10 days starting tomorrow, so I will put it through its paces so to speak and see how it works with V21. I'm going to also do calibrate the LS AHRS as previously suggested to see if that solves the problem with LS. If problems still persist, then I'll contact Garmin.

Bill, what is a LS AHRS calibration? I have left the AHRS on Automatic for 2 1/2 years and never had a problem.

I don't calibrate mine either. Some say you have to. It puts that icon on top right of screen that shows where LS beam is pointing.

I am pretty sure my updates took care of the issues I was having with the 126sv. The LS+ issue I believe to be resolved as well. I inspected the position and noticed the LS+ had moved and that was the problem. I'll be out again today and and will see if that adjustment helps.
