20 trx vs 21 trx

I'm currently trying to sell my boat and when it sells I'm thinking hard about a 21trx. Is the 20trx much different? What are the main differences? I had my mind set on the 21 after fishing out of a friend of mines but I see alot of the 20trx for sell so trying decide if I should wait for the 21.

I just got a 21 trx patriot last week. My understanding is that the 21 footer has the HP hull with a larger top cap and the 20 footer has the old XS hull. There’s a thread somewhere here on the Triton board about the differences. 20 will be faster, but I didn’t need the speed.

Around my area the 21trx is always faster than the 20trx. THe 20trx has the deeper xs hull that wont quiet run with the 21 hull. Its 2 to 3 mph slower is what i see.

I don’t know about that. I have a 20trx and while it was in the shop I borrowed a 21trx from the dealer and it was actually about 4mph slower than mine. Now I know boat set up has a lot to do with how they run but that 21 was not as fast as my 20. The 21 was a lot nicer ride but not faster.

From my experience.. owning a 20TRX with an Evinrude G2 and now a 21TRX with a Merc 4 Stroke. The 20 was 1-2mph faster in prime conditions. Carrying a load, the 20 would run about 2-4mph faster but I think that was due to the G2 having a lot more torque.

i do believe the 21 trx is faster then the 20 trx the 20 is close but the 21 set up correct will be faster then the 20

I have a 2019 20 TRX. I had heard that they 21 was typically faster as well but I've had my 20 up to about 74 and I think it has a little more. While I wanted to be in the 70ish range, absolute top speed was not a factor for me. The 21 was only about 7 inches longer than the 20 and it looked like most, if not all, of that 5 inches was in the rear. But, I never measured. Also, at the time the 21 was something like $12k more. I didn't see the value in that at all.

3 people saying the 20’s are faster. 3 people saying the 21 is faster, so they must be pretty dang close in speed. I think they’re both awesome boats and you can’t go wrong with either.

One of my close fishing buds picked up a new 21 TRX Patriot a couple of weeks ago. That thing is a rocket. He's seen 77 more than once by himself. We took it out this past Sunday and he let me drive and holy crap that thing is a missile for a 21fter. 250 Merc with 23 Fury 3 blade.
