    TRANSDUCER ISSUE

    I have a 2012 21HP. Love it. But I am having problem with a transducer, stops reading on plane. I have a Garmin 106sv at console hoked to a GT36/GT8 combo, recommended on this site and Garmin for use while on plane. The GT8 is a puck 2D sonar, that is mounted in bottom of boat. All works great until you get 28-29mph. Then drops out. Has anyone had this problem and fixed, or does anyone have suggestions. Please!! Thanks

    Most likely explanation is that the transducer was improperly positioned and/ or improperly secured in the bilge. Poor performance on plane can result if the transducer is positioned in line with a strake, isn’t level, is loose, and/ or was not secured by properly cured epoxy.

    Posting a photo of the installation would help bbc members to provide advice.
