    2000 OX66 cutting out

    Was running down the lake last night and engine just out, it picked right back up and never happened again. It was just weird how it suddenly cut out. Any thoughts or suggestions of what to look for?

    Water in fuel. Check filter under cowling for water. Replace filter in boat. Does the motor run strong now?

    That`s how mine started acting up and got more frequent turned out to be fuel relay switch. Just a thought.

    Likely the fuel pump relay. Change it. Easy job.

    Boats.net or simyamaha.com will have the parts diagram for your engine. That will have the part number.

    Mine was low pressure fuel pump, or lift pumps.

    At over 5000rpm it would just turn off.

    Replaced pumps and all good.
