    Ranger z520l prop

Ranger z520l with 250 pro xs 4s ,the boat came with a 23 fury 3. My question is ,would a 24 tempest be better. When i am full tourny load and livewells full ,i drag out of hole. Just looking for input, thanks

Depending on your top end rpms, I'd try a large diameter 4 blade like a 23-25P Bravo1 FS or XS........ Or Marks Razor4 XL.

thank you, i had a 24 fury 4 ,but i sold it. it ran good but wouldn't power on trailer.my top end with the fury 3 is 6100rpm at 69.7 mph. not sure prop to pad. for top end it is set on 8 on hydraulic jack plate ,to get up on plane i have to raise to 14 and drop as i go on plane to prevent blow out.never ran 25 tempest at wide open . i think i'll look for a bravo. rumor has it fury 4 throw blades?

Powering on trailer can be fixed with venting... Any prop can throw blades, Seems like any of the fury's are more common.

I have this same rig. The 520L overall is better with the 23 fury. Speed and hole shot both better with the fury. The 24 tempest does lift better and handles better. I also had a Fury 4 24 to. That prop was really good overall, probably my favorite but slung a blade at 45 hours. I had croxton work my 23 fury some and its doing great. I can't get on pad with the tempest with the plugs out as it blows out. Put the large plugs in and it doesn't spin up fast enough. Run and odd number of plugs in and out and I get a vibration.

yes, same vibration,at hole shot.i changed to old style hub and it helped.the 25 tempest is a backup prop, i was asking for input so incase i use it, it would be okay.i got it at a good price ,and for a backup it will do. my 23 fury isn't reworked.i'll have to look into it ,the 23 fury with a tourny load just labors out of hole.3900 to 4000 at break over then 5950 at wot at 69mph.the tempest carries boat alot better and i got rid of 4 blade for fears of throwing a blade.i would like to try a bravo 24 or 25 ,just for lift and hole shot.speed to me anymore isn't that important,69 will get me there.i bought a ranger not a bullet

I have not run a Bravo but I would like to try one. I fish lake Erie a lot and might invest in a high 5 but I'm not sure what pitch that I need.

put all solid lugs in, good holeshot, breaks over at 3500rpm,at 5750 ,1/4 trim 71mph ,jackplate at 12 stats to walk, set jackplate at 8, 5750 at 69mph ,starts to walk.goin back to fury 3, rpm with fury more in the 6000 range.at least for now i can run as a backup prop

I ran a 23 Fury on the Merc / 521L for over a year. My boat rode pretty rough compared to all of my older Rangers. Just starting playing with a Bravo 1 24 pitch. The boat seems to ride much better. I got it to 67 before I had to back off due to traffic / wind. If it will get my 68-70 at max, it will be at least as fast as my Fury. I liked the Fury 4 on my older rig until it threw a blade. Not going to risk it again given the amount of people that have an issue with that model.
