    2022 Mille Lacs SMB Reports

Figured would try to establish a place we could give our most recent experiences. Would love to have people’s takes as a 2 hour haul from the cities gets expensive without knowing the conditions and the approximate state the fish might be in.

Was up a week ago and fishing was tough. Landed a 4.5lb smb and five others. Water temp was low 50’s.

big one hit a xrap. Mayfly hatch must be around the corner? Seems I missed the spring jerkbait bite? Look forward to hearing from others.

Normally I would always be up there last week right after the holiday/opener but still haven’t been able to make the run yet with rain/wind. Typically this time of year they are less than 15’ and it just depends on how the spring is. Usually we start shallow and look for fish and move around until we get bit. Last year by the first of June we caught most of the fish in 8-15

Saw too many to count on beds 9 days ago…. Watched them actually in the act of spawning. I’m sure there are still fish in pre and post spawn currently.

Was out this past week. It was slow. 8 fish caught all day. Only one big girl. We fished deep (15+) and shallow (11 and less) rocks on the east side. Caught only one on 3 mile.

tried surface baits, soft plastics, jigs, drop shots. Couldn’t find a school or pattern. Water temp 74-75.

Fished the pond yesterday. Water temp 61. Caught a few but big girls were still few and far between. With the cool down hope things will change soon.
