anyone ever cut the shaft of your mega 360?

Like the title states, anyone ever done this? I was out this weekend and went to drop my ultrex all the way down, but then the shaft of the mega 360 was sticking up to high and not letting my ultrex turn. Is this an easy thing to do?

Yes, I protected the cables with 3/8” aluminum edging and cut it shorter length-wise to remove the shaft using a Dremel thin cut-off wheel.
Do a site search about it, I am not home to attach a photo of it.

not that tough. I also used a small piece of aluminum to protect the wires and cut shaft with a hack saw.

I used Wayne's channel method and chopped about 6 inches off mine. Hardest part for me was getting the grommet pushed back in the top. There's also some YouTube vids out there as well. Just be sure to measure 5 times before you cut so you take off the right amount. You will also want to know where your normal waterline is on the TM as this will be super helpful when measuring.

I used Wayne's method too. Looks way better in my opinion. I think I took off around 5" - 6".

Someone told me it voids the warranty. Is that true? Also said that one of those stabilizers voids it also, not sure though.

Thanks, I would like to shorten the shaft but being mine has had the head replaced after 3 hrs of use, I think I'll hold off.

Warranty is a concern, as I'm all but certain it will void it Mine had just ran out, so I went for it.

There are some other threads on this topic with some good instructions and pictures. You may want to do some searching in this forum.
