    Question H18 bounce

My dad has a H18 with a 115 Sho 6 inch manual jackplate, 21p stock prop. When running the boat starts bouncing really bad when turning to the left, don"t matter if it's 1 or 2 people in it. He has to trim just about all the way down to stop it or keep it from doing it. Any ideas on how to stop it from bouncing?

What do you mean bounce? Skipping sideways?

He may have the motor too high, drop the jackplate motor height a notch .

It's like the left corner is catching and starts wobbling. Almost like a chine walk but it only does it turning left. Can turn right trimmed out and wot with no problem.

Transducer on the left side? Mounted too deep and disrupting the stability? Motor not mounted square?

Check the weld on the last step up at the back, right at the transom it might be too tall.

Again, drop the motor down a slot on the jack plate.

I had an H18 2013 model, but I also had a 150 Yamaha carbed VMAX motor on it. That 115 may prove difificult to properly set up. May want to try a 4 blade prop. My rig loved the 4 blade props. I also had hydraulic steering. The 4 blades seem easier to steer and are more stable with thes hulls. If you are running a stock PT prop, that could also be a problem!

Couldn't agree more! I am on my 3rd Xpress (first brand new one) now and everyone I had did that until I changed that powertech prop. They have PLENTY of people on here that tell the same story.

We need more info to help u. What’s the prop to pad measurements. What name brand and style 21p prop. The only power tech prop xpress hulls like are Tro4. I probably wouldn’t run a 4 blade with a 115 but thats me.

Everyone I have seen talking about bouncing has all had a jackplate on theirs. Mine is an H17 and dose not porpoise at all, my former Ranger 178 on the other hand was awful about it.
Im sure you need to mess with your motor height
