Boat has a power tech 25p
    powerpoles blades
    36v lithium x2
    12v blue top

need help setting up. I dont have graphs yet. The boy has good hole shot however I don’t believe the motor is set the correct height for optimal top end.

A good place to start is at 3.5" and work up/down 1/4" at a time. Just watch water pressure as I understand never go below 15psi. Each setup is slightly diff as is each prop. Recently added a 26 on my 198 and had to raise engine.

Basic rule. Load boat the way you will be running it. Fill live well, take a passenger with you. Watch SAFE WATER PRESSURE. Keep raising your engine as long as you gain Speed and RPM. When you gain RPM and lose Speed you are to high, go back to last setting.

So what should I expect performance wise at WOT on this boat? Also does anyone use trim tab extenders on their 198’s? Not sure if they can be useful

    I have a 2006 198, with a Standard Merc. Optimax (not XS) 5750 Max RPM. I usually run 25 pitch props. Looking at some of the props I have run years ago. I was testing just for speed. 25 Fury 3 blade 3.25 below, 70.5 mph at 5680rpm. 26 Tempest Plus B&B by Croxton, 3.13 below, 5680rpm at 70mph, 26 4blade Trophy 5750 @ 67.1 mph, 25 Turb 4blade, 5460 @ 70.1mph, 25 3blade Turbo 5600 @ 70.5 (no hole shot), 25 4blade PowerTec 5520 @ 70.4, 25 4blade Fury 5550 @ 70 mph, 24 4 blade Fury @ 5750 70+ mph. And many others that I don't have the figures on right here.

    What I have settled on for props are a 25 Tempest Plus box stock, good hole shot @ 3.75 below 5550-5600rpm 69mph, 25 Fury 4blade @ 2.50 below 5475 -5500 Tournament load, two people, 66+ mph but won't hit 67 :), and a 24 Turbo TXP OT4, also @ 2.50 below , will turn right on 5750rpm @ 69.5 - 70mph, but with the boat loaded it is also a 66-67mph prop.

I also have 5 degree wedges between the JP and engine. I started with trim extenders and they did work for that little extra bow lift so I went with the wedges.

The transom on Champions have a more negative trim angle than most bass boats. Trim extenders may get you the additional trim to lift the bow, more RPMs more speed. If the extenders work, it is recommended that you move to wedges. Trim extenders will let the shaft exceed, move outside of the safety rails. With wedges you will get the same trim, but the shaft remains within the rails.

Yes, between the motor and JP. T-H looks good, but make sure it is a reverse wedge (positive) and covers the bolt pattern for your Yamaha.
