    ghost trolling motor what size

So I'm in the process of updating my 05 21x. I have decided on the ghost but I'm unsure of the shaft length and if I will need a wedge on it. Does the 47 have issues coming out of the water with a wedge if i decide to put one on. Thanks for the help

I just put a 47 inch Ghost on my 2005 196. I did not put a wedge on it and I have no problem seeing a crappie jig on the sonar in 20 feet of water. I have not had any issues with it coming out of the water either.

It it was a fairly easy instal too. The hole from my motor guide tour all lined up and I didn’t have to drill any new holes, which was a plus.

Here’s a video of the installation

I have the wedge on my boat with a 47” Ghost. So far so good but I don’t fish a lot of open water with big rollers. One plus is that it puts the head and shaft more parallel with the gunnels and my cover still fits.
